For this week's ep of my podcast Apt. 5B I'm chopping it up with Jas, JR & the younger soul brother Grap Luva about what we think are some of the things that derailed hip hop from it's OG path. Some of the things we're talking about is NWA opening the cursing floodgates and bringing the word "bitch" into hip hop and how these new school MC's are more concerned about having a dope brand vs. having dope music to the millions of dollars that flooded the culture that took our fave cars from Jettas to Maybachs and the dreaded crossover that in the immortal words of J.T. ain't nuthin but a double cross that have been plaguing artists since day one. But the dopest part of this ep is getting treated to some of Grap Luva's true hip hop stories like the time Big Daddy Kane came up to the Vernon to hang out with Hev and the crew & we also take some time to show love and respect to Grap's cousin the incredible Heavy D! And the craziest thing about this ep is I actually defend some of these new school artists! I know...go figure lol!
