Whenever I use the phrase "dopest duo" two groups automatically come to mind and that's Pete Rock & CL Smooth & Gang Starr. I can't even begin to tell you the countless times I've been in the who's better...Pete & CL or Primo & Guru convos but I can tell you it's right up there with the "who's the best MC, Biggie, Jay Z or Nas convos." The funny thing is that depending on the day, week, month, year, etc. my answer can go either way. Like I always tell folk, there's no "right" answer cause you can't go wrong with either one. The last time I got into this debate, Pete & CL came out on top so first up to bat is my best of Pete & CL mixtape saluting two of the illest AND smoothest cats who ever blessed the culture. Salute.
