I'm a 40 year old hip hop head. I grew up in Philly. I've rested in Brooklyn, Atlanta, B'more and now the DMV. I've been working with youth in the hoods of DC for the past 14 years. And with all of that under my belt, there's not too much that can shock me nowadays. But one thing that absolutely floored me recently was how SO many hip hop heads I know, don't rock with Dilated Peoples. To me, these dudes are the embodiment of hip hop. Two dope MC's, one of the illness DJ's walking the planet and Alchemist (who is one of the illest producers EVER) doing 75% of their beats...I mean, how can you not like that formula? Beats the hell outta me but prayerfully this best of Dilated mix I put together will help to bring these lost souls to the light. #Salute
