Nuthin But The Music: The Motown Sound

Posted On Wednesday, November 13, 2013

If you're anything like me (and most folk aren't) then you can enjoy instrumentals just as much, if not more then a finished song because there's SO many things you miss with vocals over the music. Maybe not so much nowadays because for the most part MC's AND singers are usually just rhyming over a loop (nuthin wrong with that BTW) but when you're talking about that "Motown Sound" with the Funk Brothers?!?!!? question is who WOULDN'T want to listen to instrumentals by The Funk Brothers? So whether you're singing along with the classics or loving the ish outta James Jamerson's intro baseline on the Four Top's "Bernadette" there's absolutely NO WAY you can front on this.
